Award-winning solution provider Worksmart have once again been recognised, this time as one of top 100 most innovative RegTech companies in the world.
The 2021 RegTech100 is launched today by specialist research firm RegTech Analyst. This prestigious annual list recognises the world’s most innovative technology solution providers that address the challenges of dealing with regulatory pressures within financial services.

The RegTech (regulatory technology) industry has grown rapidly in recent years as banks and financial institutions contend with the unrelenting pace of regulatory change. As a result, a place on the 2021 RegTech100 list is more prestigious than ever. Over 1,000 companies, including 62 new contenders, were voted for by a panel of industry experts and analysts. The finalists are recognised for their innovative use of technology to solve a significant industry problem, or to generate efficiency improvements across the compliance function.
RegTech Analyst director of research Mariyan Dimitrov said, “Banks and other financial institutions need to be aware of the latest RegTech innovation in the market in order to avoid new compliance risks and stay competitive despite new regulations around customer onboarding and remote communication post Covid-19. The RegTech100 list helps senior management filter through all the vendors in the market by highlighting the leading companies in sectors such as identity verification, risk management, communications monitoring, information security and reporting.”
Despite operational challenges due to Covid-19, Worksmart are by no means slowing down. Chief Technical Officer, Andy Bower, said “We have managed to deliver on our pre-Covid plan to continue investing in our software. In total we have released 6 new versions of our core Foundation platform and a further 6 releases of our multi-award-winning SM&CR solution, Accord. Whilst never complacent, this will help us retain our reputation as the #1 RegTech supplier of people-centric software solutions.”
As Worksmart’s Managing Director, my view is that from our earliest days in the 1990’s, we have worked hard to listen to customers, work with trade bodies and respond to the regulator’s guidance, to develop innovative RegTech solutions. Using this understanding, we have developed a sustained programme of investment in our underlying platform, our solutions and our information security. These have been the twin foundations of our progress as a company and I’m thrilled that our efforts have been recognised by being invited into the 2021 RegTech100 global directory.
